E-Zine Archive
I've made several online magazines over the years of publishing, some of which I gave away, others I gave up, a few others I'm still running.
Blazing Guns/Flashing SwordsSo there I was, trying to join the army. For a bunch of reasons I won't go into here, it took me a long time: almost three years.
So there I was in my parents' house, waiting for a phone call with nothing to do all day but surf the internet and watch TV. I know there are some people who would be very happy like that, but I was completely miserable. Then, one day, I was out for a walk, when I had this lightbulb moment and I thought 'Why not start a fan fiction magazine?' So I did: eventually I did get into the army, and I had to stop publishing it, but I didn't forget how great publishing it was, with all the great work people sent me, and the great cover art people did of the mascot, Leanna(pictured above) so as soon as I got out of basic, I started again, publishing the Weekly Review, to include original literature and poetry, as well as fan fiction. Issue 1, Issue 2, Issue 3, Issue 4, Issue 5, Issue 6, Issue 7, Issue 8, Issue 9, Issue 10, Issue 11, Issue 12, Issue 13, Issue 14, Issue 15, Issue 16, Issue 17, Issue 18, Issue 19, Issue 20, Issue 21, Issue 22 The computer I was using to make the issues of BGFS died a little while before I was finally going in the army, so I stopped publishing it. Fanatical Publishing's WEEKLY REVIEWAfter I got out of basic and settled into my job, I found I had time on my hands, so I started publishing again, not in PDF issues, but just attaching stories and poems to an email and sending it to all my subscribers.
Including original prose, poetry, and fan fiction, I had fun with it. Starting with Issue 42, I took a chance and started making new issues, naming the resultant e-zine 'Weekly Review' AKA 'Fanatical Publishing's WEEKLY REVIEW' Issue 42, Issue 43, Issue 44, Issue 45, Issue 46, Issue 47, Issue 48, Issue 49, Issue 50, Issue 51, Issue 52, Issue 53, Issue 54, Issue 55, Issue 56, Issue 57, Issue 58, Issue 59, Issue 60, Issue 61, Issue 62, Issue 63, Issue 64, Issue 65, Issue 66, Issue 67, Issue 68, Issue 69, Issue 70, Issue 71, Issue 72, Issue 73, Issue 74, Issue 75, Issue 76, Issue 77, Issue 78, Issue 79, Issue 80, Issue 81, Issue 82, Issue 83, Issue 84, Issue 85, Issue 86 Life is full and I do this for free, so I often fall a little behind in uploading issues here. |
Anything Obscure is the magazine for those of us who are left out of it all; it's for those stories that don't fit into any category, those poems that slip through the cracks, the literature that defies description.
A short-lived experiment in e-zine publishing, I gave it to a person who said she really wanted her own magazine, but as far as I know, she's done nothing with it since. Issue 1 Issue 2 Issue 3 Issue 4 If things don't get too crazy in my life, I may just take it back and start it up again. |
